Established in 2008, Rachel Simpson is widely acknowledged as the home of vintage style wedding shoes. Born of a passion for the craft of shoe making, Rachel’s original ethos is central to the collection, combining elegant design with the finest materials to create just beautiful shoes. It is their unique design and unmistakable style which make Rachel Simpson shoes so recognisable. Handmade by skilled shoemakers, every pair comes with the comfort for which Rachel Simpson shoes are well known, due to their considered design and deliciously soft leather linings. The women’s collection is made in a family run factory in the Alicante region in Spain, and the men’s in Noida, India, at a factory with whom Rachel has worked for many years.
Rachel Simpson shoes are wearable. From the carefully selected heel height to the elegantly designed toe shape, each pair is as comfortable as it is beautiful. Rachel pays particular attention to the detail within each design, ensuring that the line of the shoe is perfectly cut to compliment the foot and offer maximum comfort. Every shoe is lined with softest kid leather, which allows the foot to breathe and ensures comfort from day to dance floor, from the moment you put them on.
The collection has a strong influence from the late 1920s into the 1930s, an era which particularly inspires the designer. In fact, it is this signature twenties t-bar look for which Rachel is most well known, giving a timelessly elegant look and flattering fit. Combining these classic silhouettes with intricate detailing and beautiful fabric combinations creates styles which can be worn as easily with a vintage lace dress as with a more modern gown.
Versatility is a key ingredient of the collection, and Rachel Simpson shoes are well known for being worn again after the wedding- as at home with your favourite pair of jeans as walking down the aisle. Before launching her own name label in 2008, Rachel spent several years designing for a number of high street brands, and combines this experience with her love of vintage to create beautiful shoes for your wedding, rather than traditional wedding shoes.
Now worn by brides all over the world, the business all started in a workshop at the bottom of the garden, where Rachel first began creating bespoke wedding shoes after graduating in Footwear Design from De Montfort University in 2002. It is this love of shoe making and passion for beautiful design which is the driving force behind this unique brand. The collection is now available throughout the UK and internationally, via a network of like minded stockists.
Now offering a hand picked selection of co-ordinating handbags and accessories, all handmade in the UK by independent designers, the Rachel Simpson label continues to grow, with exciting plans for 2015.
